Necklace with Shibori Silk, Soutache andJasper

This necklace combines genuine gemstones - two different types of Jasper and Labradorite - with seed beads, shell pearls and Swarovski crystals combined with Shibori Silk and Soutache. It uses a traditional material (soutache - a braid used to add decorations to military uniforms) in a totally contemporary way.

The cabochon used for the oval drop is Mushroom Rhyolite (not exactly a flattering name for  a wonderful stone! ) and the two cabochons on the main piece are Butterfly Jasper. The overall look of the piece is opulent, but the colour range is restrained and sophisticated. 

The necklace is finished with a sterling silver chain and extender to allow adjustments on the décolletage so it’s a perfect fit.
